The ARC-4020 Port Multiplier is designed to provide a high performance link between a single SATA2 host port and 4 SATA device ports. It
allows a single host connection to access 4 disk drives, can provide an easy way to add terabytes of storage capacity to a host system with an external SATA2 por and supports both 3Gbps and 1.5Gbps devices automatically. The Areca ARC-1202 external SATA RAID adapter is a PCIe x1 bus to SATA disk array adapter. It has two external eSATA ports and supports up to 8 SATA ll peripheral devices using port multiplier box (ARC-4020). It uses the same RAID kernel of its field-proven external RAID controller. When properly configured, the SATA RAID adapter can provide a high degree of performance and fault tolerance with data mirroring for maximum protection. The ARC-1202 with ARC-4020 is the industry's most compelling RAID solution which economically delivers full-featured true hardware RAID to desktop and workstations as well as entry-level servers.
